East Holmes Local Schools is pleased to announce the launch of the Phased Classroom Renovation Project, an initiative dedicated to revitalizing learning environments across our elementary schools. With funds intentionally set aside for the project, this multi-year initiative will be completed at no cost to taxpayers.
The renovation will span several summers, ensuring minimal disruption for students and staff during the school year. Aimed at refreshing over 145 classrooms and various common areas, upgrades include new flooring, fresh paint, modern lighting and updated furniture—enhancing our learning spaces' functionality and atmosphere.
"Our focus remains on enhancing our existing facilities while preserving our small, close-knit school communities,” said Board of Education President Steve Miller. “This project reflects our commitment to fostering a positive environment for student learning while upholding our community values.”
East Holmes is teaming up with GPD Group for design and Hammond Construction for project management, ensuring seamless planning and execution from start to finish. This project builds on our recent improvements funded by COVID relief monies, including heating and cooling system upgrades and new classroom technology.
We’re proud of this initiative, which demonstrates careful, forward-thinking financial planning and makes essential upgrades possible without a ballot measure. Updates will be shared throughout the project in our quarterly newsletters, social media, and on the district website so our community can stay informed as the work progresses.
