Phased Classroom Renovation

The district is proud to launch the Phased Classroom Renovation Project to enhance learning environments for students and staff across the district.

The project highlights the district’s commitment to enhancing its current facilities, emphasizing a focus on facility improvements rather than school consolidation. This decision celebrates what makes our district unique—our small, close-knit school communities.

With funds intentionally set aside for the project, careful and intentional financial planning has made it possible to support these improvements without requiring a ballot measure.

EAST HOLMES CLASSROOM RENOVATION PROJECT MOVES TO DESIGN PHASE

January 25, 2025

The next step in our Phased Classroom Renovation Project is now underway, with the district selecting GPD Group for design and Hammond Construction for project management. Together, these trusted partners will ensure the seamless execution of this multiyear initiative to refresh over 145 classrooms and common areas.

The renovations, scheduled over summer breaks to minimize disruptions, will include new flooring, fresh paint, modern lighting, and updated furniture—all designed to enhance the functionality and atmosphere of our learning spaces. With funds intentionally set aside for the project, this multi-year initiative will be completed at no cost to taxpayers.

This fall, East Holmes invited staff and parents to share feedback through a survey, gathering input on design, color schemes, and furniture preferences. The feedback will help guide decisions as we move forward with the goal of creating classrooms that inspire dynamic learning while preserving our small, close-knit school communities.

Stay tuned for updates in our quarterly newsletters, on social media, and at www.eastholmes.org. We look forward to sharing our vision and seeing these updates come to life.

EAST HOLMES LOCAL SCHOOLS LAUNCHES CLASSROOM RENOVATION PROJECT

November 27, 2024

East Holmes Local Schools is pleased to announce the launch of the Phased Classroom Renovation Project, an initiative dedicated to revitalizing learning environments across our elementary schools. With funds intentionally set aside for the project, this multi-year initiative will be completed at no cost to taxpayers.

The renovation will span several summers, ensuring minimal disruption for students and staff during the school year. Aimed at refreshing over 145 classrooms and various common areas, upgrades include new flooring, fresh paint, modern lighting and updated furniture—enhancing our learning spaces' functionality and atmosphere.

"Our focus remains on enhancing our existing facilities while preserving our small, close-knit school communities,” said Board of Education President Steve Miller. “This project reflects our commitment to fostering a positive environment for student learning while upholding our community values.”

East Holmes is teaming up with GPD Group for design and Hammond Construction for project management, ensuring seamless planning and execution from start to finish. This project builds on our recent improvements funded by COVID relief monies, including heating and cooling system upgrades and new classroom technology.

We’re proud of this initiative, which demonstrates careful, forward-thinking financial planning and makes essential upgrades possible without a ballot measure. Updates will be shared throughout the project in our quarterly newsletters, social media, and on the district website so our community can stay informed as the work progresses.
